ACN huge wireless partners – huge for acn representatives?

ACN Incorporated or American Communications Network was formed by Greg Prevenzano, Robert Stevanovski, Tony Cupisz, and Mike Cupisz in 1993.  Although relatively new in the world of information and communications technology, ACN ranks 20th in the $100 Million Club with $500 million corporate revenue.  In the Direct Sellers Association (DSA), there are only 11 telecommunications companies, ACN included, to use multi-level marketing (MLM) to sell their products and services.

Is Wireless Still In Demand?

From 2001 to 2008, the compound accelerated growth of wireless sales was very evident.  This was the time when the dream of having everything “mobile” was beginning to take shape.  However, 2008 to 2009 mobile phone sales slowed down, but increased the sales of smartphones.

Numbers from the 2010 Nielsen ratings say that by the 3rd quarter of 2009, 25% of the mobile devices sold were smartphones.  In the US, 223 million mobile phone users are at least 14 years old.  In a separate statistics report, there has been an 11% growth in mobile subscriptions in the US.  So is there still a demand for mobile phones?  With a total of 302.9 million wireless users in the US, yes, it is still in demand, but may be quite saturated.

ACN’s Smart Move

In 2007, ACN launched their wireless service.  But instead of creating their own ACN wireless carrier, they partnered with the big names in the industry such as Verizon, Sprint, Nextel, and T-Mobile.  In other words, ACN became resellers of these strong brands.

With the given statistics, ACN teaming up with the more established wireless carriers may be a smart move.  Instead of trying to build a reputation in the wireless industry, which may take a while; and snatching customers from these companies, which could be very challenging, they simply work with them and earn profit nonetheless.  In addition, ACN won’t have to spend on building their own cell sites or on other expenses that having your own wireless company may need.

In 2010, Verizon was the top wireless company in the US with about 92.8 million subscribers.  Sprint had 47.8 million and T-Mobile with 33.7 million subscribers.  That’s a total of 174.3 million subscribers, which is more than half the total of wireless users in the US.

What’s In It for the ACN Representatives?

These companies are indeed the top carriers.  Dominating independent reviews, plans, phones, fees, support, and more, ACN definitely represents good names.  This is good news particularly for its representatives in terms of acquiring customers and recruiting more representatives.

ACN’s compensation plan shows that representatives earn by acquiring customers and recruiting representatives.  The main advantage of representing a company which offers cellular phone services by the top carriers is it’s relatively easy to sell and get new customers.  Representatives do not have to go through the long process of proving the company’s worth and credibility.

By theory, having a product that is easy to sell makes recruiting easier, too.  As in any MLM companies, having your own team formed by recruiting is where you start to see income coming in.
